Eddie Redmayne has described living with Jamie Dornan at the beginning of their acting careers as being like living with a puppy.

The two actors shared an apartment when they first moved to America to pursue their careers, and Oscar-winner Redmayne couldn't get over Dornan's puppy-like energy.

"Basically, it was like living with a puppy because he has more energy than any human being you've ever met. There's sort of a twilight zone between 5:00 and 6:00 when he just goes insane and it was like a puppy," he told Good Morning America.

Dornan recently spoke about their time as roommates on The Late Late Show with James Corden, describing them both as "desperate" actors at the time.

"Desperate. We were both very desperate, you know it was slim pickings in those days for work - the idea was you'd come out and all go to the same sort of auditions," Dornan said.

"We both had the same agent at the time and I remember on the second day, one of the couriers arrived with 25 scripts and Eddie and I were like, 'Who's it for?' It was for me.

"Eddie didn't take it that well. He was calling his agent saying, 'Jamie just got sent a load of scripts.' About an hour later a courier arrived with the exact same stack of scripts."

Dornan is currently starring in Fifty Shades Freed, in cinemas now.
