It was Switched Couple week on Dancing with the Stars as the eight remaining celebs swapped partners and viewers were treated to a hugely entertaining show.

Alannah Beirne and Kai Widdrington topped the judges' vote, earning 27 points out of a possible 30 for their fantastic Tango to Green Light by Lorde.

Deirdre O'Kane and Vitali Kozmin, doing the American Smooth to Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush, finished second on 26 points.

"I loved doing the tango, Kai is an amazing teacher," Alannah said after her performance. "I'm really embracing it. We're really enjoyed our week."

Judge Julian was full of praise, saying: "It was a dark dramatic tango . . . a fresh approach . . . a unique approach . . . overall great performance."

Loraine agreed. "It was one of my favourite dances as well. An amazing attacking dynamic tango"  and Brian added "You have fabulous potential . . . I really enjoyed that".

Bernard O'Shea and Karen Byrne, doing the Charlston to Lollipop by Mika, came last with 13 points, just one behind Marty Morrissey and Emily Barker, who Jived to Crocodile Rock by Elton John.

"Overall, it was a very successful week," said judge Loraine. "Each dancer gets a new approach," says Julian, when asked about Switch-Up week.

Next week it's the return of the dreaded Dance-off, as the two couples with the lowest votes have to compete against each other to remain on the show.
