A young woman got the surprise of her life on The Late Late Show after her boyfriend asked her a very important question live on air - and thankfully she said YES!
28-year-old James, a social worker and part-time student from Mullingar, got down on one knee to pop the question to his beautician girlfriend, Siobhán, in front of a 200-strong audience on Friday night.
The happy couple, who met in the forecourt of the Applegreen garage in Portlaoise almost five years ago, were on the show to take part in a Mr and Mrs game show segment, but James planned to take the night in a different direction!
After the initial shock, a visibly shaken Siobhán gave the man of her dreams the answer he had been waiting for and said yes to his proposal, which prompted the excited crowd to get up on their feet and chant 'Olé Olé Olé' at the newly engaged lovebirds.
The blushing bride-to-be told Ryan Tubridy that she was stuck for words but admitted that she "was hoping" James was going to ask her to marry him "at some point".
Asked if he felt under pressure to put a ring on her finger, James laughed and said: "Every time we go into a shopping centre, she is dragging me over to shop windows saying, 'this one is nice'."
Viewers were quick to congratulate the pair, with one social media user posting, "Lovely couple, congratulations and best wishes for the future".
Another Facebook user wrote, "Congratulations to you both. Enjoy your life!".
The Late Late Show Valentine's Day Special went down a treat with the audience, which was mainly made up of young singletons, and they made sure they got the party started from the get-go. Check out this epic entrance:
