12-year-old Cork busker Allie Sherlock has signed a five-year record deal with One Republic Ryan Tedder's record label Patriot Records.

Last week the American singer-songwriter and producer, who has worked with Paul McCartney, Ed Sheeran, U2 and Adele, arranged for Allie and her dad to fly to LA to record and write a number of songs with him after he saw one of her videos on Instagram.

Speaking on Saturday night's Ray D'arcy Show on RTÉ One, Allie revealed that she will record three albums on Tedder's label.

She also announced that she is doing a busking tour around Europe so fans will not have to wait long to see her perform on the streets again.

To celebrate the record deal news, D'Arcy presented the up-and-coming young star with a vinyl record player on last night's show.

Allie also appeared on The Ellen Show on last Monday and made a huge impression. She sang A Million Years Ago and chatted to Ellen, basking in the first days of new-found success.
