Lady Gaga has cancelled the last ten dates of the European leg of her world tour due to "severe pain".

In a statement on Twitter, the pop star apologised to music fans, declaring that she was "devastated", but was obliged to put "myself and my well-being" first.

The singer suffers from fibromyalgia, a long-term condition which can cause pain thoughout the body.

Lady Gaga's shows in London and Manchester will not now take place.

The official statement said the "tough decision" had been made on Friday night with "strong support from her medical team".

Ticket holders can apply for a refund from February 6.
