On the back of their only live appearances of 2018 - seven sold-out Dublin concerts in March - a Live at NCH album will be issued by trad group The Gloaming in March.      

The band has a long and particularly successful association with the NCH debut performance and their 2011 debut at the storied venue is recalled by band members as ‘the one that sold out before they had the opportunity to write or rehearse any music.’

The Gloaming are Iarla Ó Lionáird, vocal,Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh, Hardanger d’Amore), Dennis Cahill (Guitar), Martin Hayes (Fiddle), Thomas Bartlett (Piano) Their NCH concerts this year are on March 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12.

The experimental but traditional-based ensemble has two studio albums to their name, The Gloaming (2014) and The Gloaming 2 (2016).

Assembling Live at NCH, Bartlett, who is also the band's producer, decided on six tracks: The Booley House, Cucanandy, The Sailor’s Bonnet, The Pilgrim’s Song, The Rolling Wave and Fáinleog. 

The Gloaming have not only enjoyed success in Ireland but have wowed audiences at London’s Royal Albert Hall, Sydney’s Opera House, New York’s Lincoln Center, Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, Mexico City’s Teatro de la Ciudad, and Philharmonie de Paris. 

The new album is out on March 2 and is available on CD, Digital and double LP.
