Mia Farrow has led the tributes to Oscar winning actress Dorothy Malone who has died aged-92. Malone played the role of Mia Farrow's mother in the TV series Peyton Place for two years.

The actress played the role of Constance MacKenzie in one of America's first series dramas which was broadcast after the watershed.
She won her Academy Award for 1956 film Written on the Wind and had memorable roles in The Big Sleep, Man of a Thousand Faces and 'Too Much, Too Soon.'
Her manager told the Hollywood Reporter that she had been ill for a number of years.
The actress was born in Chicago in 1925. She became an actress while studying with ambitions to becoming a nurse.
She is survived by two daughters Mimi and Diane.
