Outlander actress Caitriona Balfe has revealed that she is engaged to her boyfriend Tony McGill.
The Irish actress confirmed to US magazine People on the red carpet of the Golden Globes that McGill popped the question recently.
She told the publication: "It happened over the break. I'm very happy."
The 38-year-old star debuted her engagement ring, a round diamond set between two sapphires, at the awards ceremony.
Balfe and McGill have been in a relationship for almost two years. Although they largely keep a low profile, the couple were photographed together at the Oscar Wilde Awards in February 2017.
They were first seen together in 2015 when a friend shared an Instagram video of Balfe sitting on McGill’s lap as she played the tin whistle.
Balfe was nominated for best performance by an actress in a television series, drama, for her performance in Outlander at Sunday's Golden Globes but lost out to The Handmaid's Tale star Elisabeth Moss.
She chose to wear all black for the red carpet event as a stand against sexual harassment in Hollywood and beyond.
