In the TV end of things, Big Little Lies was the big winner at this year's Golden Globes as it captured four categories, including Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.
The Best Actress in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television gong went to Nicole Kidman, who dedicated the award to her daughters, Big Little Lies cast members and her mother.
She said: "Wow, the power of women", pointing out that her mother "was an advocate for the women's movement when I was growing up... My achievements are her achievements."
Of her Big Little Lies role, she said: "This character that I played represents something that is the centre of our conversation right now - abuse.
"I do believe, and I hope, we can elicit change through the stories we tell and the way we tell them."
