Ray D'Arcy and his family are in mourning following the death of his father, Ray senior, on Thursday, surrounded by his family.
It will be a sad end to 2017 for the radio presenter and his family as the ex-army man’s funeral is set to take place on Saturday.
The Kildare native and retired soldier is survived by his wife Mary, their nine children Joe, Jacqui, TV star Ray, Hugh, Anne, Paul, Marianne, Claire and Joan and his sisters Anne and Ruth.
The funeral requiem mass is set to take place on Saturday at St Brigid's Parish Church, Kildare Town, followed by cremation at Newlands Cross Crematorium.
