His most high-profile TV role in recent years has been as the goofy lead detective DI Humphrey Goodman in BBC murder mystery Death in Paradise.

In February this year, he announced he was leaving the show, which was filmed in the Caribbean, to return to the UK as he wanted to spend more time with his wife Hannah and two young children, Thomas and Elsie.

Movie: Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

In recent years, however, Quaid has been famous more for his widespread legal troubles than his career.

In 2006, he sued the producers of Brokeback Mountain for misrepresenting the film as "a low-budget, art house film with no prospect of making money" in order to secure Quaid's professional acting services at below-market rates.

In 2009, he and his wife were arrested for allegedly defrauding an innkeeper in Santa Barbara by using an invalid credit card to pay a $10,000 bill. The following year the couple were charged with burglary after they spent five days occupying the guest house in a vacant home they once owned in Santa Barbara.

That has followed me my whole life."

In 2016, Wilson broke the internet when she told fans she identified as bisexual after sharing a picture of herself, aged 18, in a gay club in the wake of the Orlando nightclub shootings.

She admitted that if she could do it again, it would not be in that way. "Ideally, I was wishing it would be because I was dating Janelle Monáe or something."
