When asked why she took part she said it was to challenge the myth that all politicians are "old, white, male, pale and stale", as she was eliminated from the show.
She told hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly she had wanted to go on the ITV show to talk about the things she cared about.
The 36-year-old, who clapped and exclaimed "yes" when she was told her jungle stay was over, said she was feeling "right as rain" and did not mind being eliminated.

She appeared on ITV's Lorraine breakfast show on Monday morning and said: "I always knew it was going to be a big gamble for me politically.
I know I'm going back to a good deal of criticism and I will take that face on, I've got to have a lot of conversations with people but I'm going back with my head held high.
The way I look at it is this is the most watched family TV programme in the history of TV, so to speak, and it's watched largely by young people aged 18 to 24. That is the very group of people who are least engaged with politics so a big part of why I wanted to do this was to go out there and show people that politics matters, that there is a big difference between the two major parties, that your vote does count, to encourage young people to vote, because it's only if young people vote that they will get the type of change that they want to see in their country."
.@amirkingkhan's dad had a little surprise for @kezdugdale !! 😂🍓

She said one of the hardest things about her time in the jungle had been being parted from her girlfriend, the SNP MSP Jenny Gilruth.
She said: "It was incredibly difficult to go a good two weeks without even seeing a picture or hearing her voice.
"Lots of couples have to spend time apart for their work or for whatever other reason but this was a bit different. I got to speak to her as soon as I left camp but that was filmed for ITV2 so we couldn't really have a proper chat but when I got back to the hotel we had a decent chat on FaceTime for half an hour or so and that was just lovely.
"She's just the most beautiful girl, she's incredibly smart and funny and I can't wait to get home to see her.
Her fellow campers competed in a jungle car karaoke competition, luckily it was a success and they had a gourmet meal of ostrich eggs and mushrooms.

Coronation Star Jennie McAlpine and Saturdays singer Vanessa White volunteered to play for the promise of a decent meal, little did they realise they had to sing with bugs such as cockroaches, grubs and spiders in their mouth and in the car.
First the rice and beans are 'bland' now our mealworms are 'salty'...it's like we can't do anything right 🙄 #ImACeleb pic.twitter.com/IHUH36PUMG

They had to listen to 45 seconds of a well-known song and hum along to it, with a bug in their mouth as their fellow camper guessed the name of the artist and song.
White hummed Abba's Dancing Queen while holding beachworms in her mouth. White had to hum with a stick insect Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive which she did unable to hold back a few shrieks.
They were successful with the challenge and secured eight out of the 10 stars. By doing this task they got a fancy meal of of ostrich egg and mushrooms for dinner, instead of basic rice and beans.
Some egg-cellent puns there, @stanleypjohnson. #ImACeleb pic.twitter.com/gIh2P4joAH

The others were covered in bugs and probably should have opted instead to sing for their supper.
