14-year-old Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard has signed a record deal with his band Calpurnia, who are currently recording their first EP.

Wolfhard, who plays Mike on the hit Netflix drama and also starred in the recent adaptation of Stephen King's IT, leads the band as frontman and guitarist. Fellow teens Jack Anderson, Ayla Tesler-Mabe and Malcolm Craig complete the band's line-up.

Speaking about the signing, Wolfhard praised his team at Royal Mountain Records saying, "I love everyone on it."

"I'm extremely excited to record our EP with Cadien Lake James. Not only is he in one of my favourite bands of all time, and recorded some of my favourite songs, but he is also the sweetest guy ever. Thanks everyone so much who helped us out along the way, it means the world," he told NME.

Cadien Lake James plays in the band Twin Peaks, who Wolfhard's Calpurnia have covered previously, which is thought to have led to their collaboration.

The band has also performed covers of Mac DeMarco, with the musician inviting them on stage with him at his show in Atlanta, Georgia in May.

Wolfhard's Stranger Things co-star, and on-screen sister, Natalia Dyer, shared a video of them performing with DeMarco to her Instagram account at the time.
