Faye Brookes says her Coronation Street character, Kate Connor, wants to get a reaction out of Rana by telling her she is moving abroad.

Coronation Street fans were delighted as Rana Nazir and Kate Connor gave in to their feelings in a recent episode by sharing a kiss.

The best friends, played by Bhavna Limbachia and Faye Brookes, shared a passionate moment before Rana's partner, Zeedan, walked into the room.

Speaking about her character's storyline, Brookes said: "Kate wants to get a reaction out of Rana so she decides that if she takes the candy away and leaves her with nothing then maybe Rana will tell her how she truly, truly feels because Rana keeps putting the ball in Kate’s court."

"It’s way too much pressure on Kate so this is her way of turning the tables".

Faye admits that Kate grows even more impatient when Rana doesn't pay any attention to her or seem to care about her plans to move abroad.

"Rana doesn’t bat an eyelid and it frustrates Kate even more. Kate doesn’t get the reaction that she wants and it leads Kate to think that this could ruin their relationship as well as their friendship and their friendship is the one thing that Kate wants to hold on to the most. Now they are frosty, uncomfortable and they don’t get on."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on TV3 and ITV.
