Pick of the day
Loves, Lies & Records, 9.00pm, BBC One
This new six-parter stars Ashley Jensen, Mark Stanley and Adrian Bower and focuses on a woman whose struggles at home and at work begin to mount up.
It’s a big day for Registrar Kate Dickenson (Jensen) as her dream promotion to Superintendent is about to be announced and an anxious Kate knows not everyone is going to be pleased with the news.
But even she’s not prepared for what happens when fellow registrar James (Stanley) makes an impromptu confession that sends shockwaves through the Register Office.
But James’ bombshell soon becomes the least of Kate’s worries, as a disgruntled colleague threatens to expose a risqué secret from Kate's past that could jeopardise everything she’s worked so hard to achieve.
New or Returning Shows
British Workers Wanted, 10.00pm, Channel 4
Opus Loco is one of Bognor Regis's busiest recruitment agencies and run by two of the town’s most outspoken women. But they're in trouble.
Unless they can find Brits to replace their trusted Eastern European workforce, who are now starting to head home, their agency could be forced to close.
Never shy of a fight, with sleeves rolled up and nails sharpened, the women set out to drag the citizens of Bognor out of bed or off the beach and into work.
But things don't quite go to plan and they're left questioning their Brexit vote.
Ending Tonight
Exodus: Our Journey Continues, 9.00pm, BBC Two
The final episode of the series follows the fate of Nazifa and her family as they make a final attempt to reach Germany.
There’s a catch-up with Sadiq, who in season one managed to travel from Afghanistan to his destination of Finland in just 45 days. But the welcome he experienced has not been sustained.
Across Europe policies have changed and deals have been struck, which means that if Sadiq’s asylum claim fails, he faces forced deportation.
Across the Atlantic, the USA is no longer welcoming refugees from the Middle East. There’s Saed and his family, Yezidis from Iraq, one of Daesh’s main targets. They are living in a refugee camp waiting for their papers to be processed.
Don't Miss
Ireland’s Greatest Sporting Moment, 9.30pm, RTÉ2
In the second episode of this series Ruby Walsh, Derval O’Rourke and Ronan O’Gara debate the best Irish sporting moment of the 1990s, with the winning moment being determined by a live social media and text vote from viewers at home.
If anything other than the penalty shoot-out against Romania at Italia 90 wins it’ll be a travesty. I doubt if Ireland has ever had a more united moment than that day.
