Rose McGowan surrenders to police over drugs arrest warrant

Actor and activist Rose McGowan has been released on a $5,000 bond after surrendering to US police on foot of a warrant for alleged felony possession of a controlled substance.

The arrest warrant arose from a police investigation of personal belongings McGowan left on a flight arriving into Washington Dulles International Airport from Los Angeles in January. 

"Ms McGowan appeared in Loudoun County, Virginia, on November 14, 2017, to accept service of the Airports Authority Police arrest warrant, and she was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond," a spokesperson for the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said.

McGowan is one of the leading campaigners against sexual harassment in Hollywood and has alleged that film producer Harvey Weinstein raped her. Weinstein has said through a spokesperson that "any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied".
