In one of the biggest shocks in Strictly history, Merrygold and Manrara lost out to The Saturdays singer Mollie King and her professional partner AJ Pritchard in last week's dreaded dance-off, and fans are still furious over their elimination.

Taking to Twitter, one social media user said they were disappointed the JLS star wasn't on the latest episode, posting: "I don’t even know why I’m watching this seeing as Aston was booted out last week #strictly."

Another added: "I’m already having Aston and Janette withdrawals #strictly."

A third tweeted: "Me: still bitter aston was eliminated on last week's #strictly."

On Saturday's Strictly comedian Susan Calman shed a few tears following her tango to Katy Perry's Firework.

"It was quite an emotional song,’ she insisted as a concerned Tess Daly asked her if she wanted a tissue. ‘It was great though."

X Factor winner Alexandra Burke was the first Strictly contestant to take on the Argentine Tango of this year's series with her professional partner Gorka Marquez, and the pair were lauded by the judging panel.

Craig Revel Horwood said the performance was incredible, while head judge Shirley Ballas told the duo: "I felt like I was transported to a nightclub where it was just you two," adding "extraordinary".

Strictly Come Dancing continues tomorrow at 7.20pm on BBC One.
