Madonna has made her stand-up comedy debut, joining Amy Schumer for a slot in New York's Comedy Cellar.

The entertainers share a manager and it is not the first time they have teamed up, with Madonna introducing Schumer for one of her show's in Madison Square Garden.

Before welcoming Schumer to the stage at the time, Madonna finished her speech by saying, "[This] insanely talented woman who I am so jealous of because one day I want to do what she does" and it looks like Schumer made this dream a reality for the singer.

Sharing an image of herself and Schumer on stage in the Comedy Cellar on Tuesday night to her Instagram account, Madonna said she was in the city on business, before running into Schumer and somehow ending up "making my stand up debut".

Madonna described the experience as a "thrill."

Schumer also posted about the experience jokingly saying, "We'd like to thank @nyccomedycellar for taking a chance on our new act."
