Hollywood star Russell Crowe is returning to The Late Late Show couch this Friday ahead of his band's gig in Dublin this October.

The Nice Guys and Gladiator actor will be chatting to host Ryan Tubridy about life on the Hollywood A-list, juggling family, music and films and hitting the road with his band The Indoor Garden Party.

The band, who are set to play Dublin's Olympia Theatre on October 1, will also be performing on the show and Crowe might even put in a repeat performance with the Late Late Show house band.

Friday night's show will also commemorate the Irish sports legend Jimmy Magee, who passed away this week. Ryan will be joined by some of the sports commentator's friends and colleagues as they remember the man who, for many people, is the defining voice of Irish sport.

Also on the show, actors Elaine Cassidy and Angeline Ball will chat about filming the new Sunday night drama Acceptable Risk in Dublin and Montreal.
