Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley has said that fans of the ITV soap are set for big day shenanigans galore later this month as her character, Eva Price, prepares to tie the knot with cheating fiancé Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward).

Eva knows that Aidan has been cheating on her with her best friend Maria (Samia Longchambon) and has been meticulously planning her revenge. However, Aidan is set to confess his infidelity on the morning of the wedding, with events spiralling from there.

Catherine Tyldesley - "They were the most challenging scenes I have ever shot"

Tyldesley told the Press Association that the wedding day scenes were "the most challenging" of her time in Corrie and include a cat-fight between Eva and Maria in a water fountain. That showdown took nearly three hours to film and resulted in six wedding dresses being ruined.

While staying coy about whether Eva and Aidan have a future, Tyldesley said her character's relationship with Maria is finished.

"She is angry at both of them," she said.

"But for years when she talked about being cheated on, she spoke many times about the girl code and how much she despises women that do that.

"So the fact that it's her best friend that's done it is just another level for her and her feelings for Maria are completely gone now, there's nothing left."

Fans can follow all the twists on TV3 and ITV from September 18, with Corrie moving to six episodes a week from September 20.
