Leonardo DiCaprio has donated $1million (€840,000) to relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Harvey in the United States, matching the donation made by Sandra Bullock earlier this week.
The newly-established United Way Harvey Recovery Fund said it was "incredibly grateful" to receive its first donation from the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.
United Way president Brian Gallagher thanked Oscar-winner DiCaprio for his generosity, saying: "Responding to Hurricane Harvey requires the best of all of us - and that's what this gift represents."
Speaking about her donation to the Red Cross, Bullock said she was "just grateful" that she could do it, adding that "we all have to do our part."

DiCaprio and Bullock are among the Hollywood stars donating generously to help those affected by the storm, which came ashore on Friday. So far 31 people have been confirmed dead.
Harvey has been downgraded to a tropical depression but "life-threatening" flooding will persist in and around Texas cities Houston, Port Arthur and Beaumont and in the south-west of Louisiana.
Comedian and actor Kevin Hart donated $50,000 and set up a crowd-funding page that has exceeded $1million and challenged other Hollywood stars to help out.

The Kardashian family made a collective donation of $500,000 to the Red Cross and Salvation Army, and Beyoncé, who is from Texas, revealed that her philanthropic organisation BeyGOOD will be aiding the relief efforts.
"My heart goes out to my home town, Houston, and I remain in constant prayer for those affected and for the rescuers who have been so brave and determined to do so much to help," Beyoncé said.
