Fair City's Robbie finds himself in grave danger on Thursday night when Trigger attempts to have him killed by one of his associates.
On tonight's episode, as Trigger's associate Gerry Bannon gets ready to kill Robbie, he hides in the toilets ready to pounce when Robbie comes in, but his plan is scuppered as he slips on soap. When John Deegan walks into the bathroom, he knows he has missed his opportunity, and tries to call off the job, but Trigger won't let him give up.
With Robbie clueless as to what was about to go down with Gerry in the toilet, he receives a warning from Deegan that Gerry is a low scale criminal who is into compensation crime. When Robbie calls Gerry into his office to question him about his motives, he finds himself in grave danger as he is left alone with the man who wants to kill him.
Elsewhere, Carol tries to make peace with Trigger but it ends in a huge argument and the revelation that Robbie is as good as dead.
Speaking about the storyline, Aisling O'Neill who plays Carol Foley said; "It's been quite a tough time for Carol recently. She thought she was rid of Trigger and then all of a sudden he turns up on her doorstep telling her he only has weeks to live. She's completely thrown and has to decide what to do, does she turn him away and leave him to die alone or does she take him in."
"I think Carol believes that once Trigger is dead, she will be free from him and her past, but as we all know it doesn't work like that. There were a lot of dark scenes to film, a lot of crying, and heavy emotions.
"We all really wanted to do the storyline justice, so I hope everyone at home will enjoy watching the story unfold. What's next for Carol, who knows! She's a fighter and I think secretly everyone will be rooting for her to come out the other side," she added.
