One Direction star Liam Payne surprised and delighted London-based fans on Monday with two impromptu performances in the city for his new music video.

The singer was joined by DJ collaborator Zedd as he performed his song Get Low outside Oxford Circus underground station and then in Trafalgar Square.

Dressed in a black jacket with 'Fear of God' emblazoned across the back with black jeans, a gold chain and white trainers, Payne drew a crowd as he sang into a microphone plugged into a backpack and danced in the centre of a circle of onlookers.

Zedd played a keyboard plugged into his own backpack, which he wore over a black and bronze jacket.

In Trafalgar Square the duo emerged from a black car to perform the track they released on July 6 in front of the National Gallery, surrounded by professional dancers.

At one point Payne sang into a megaphone and encouraged the crowd to dance along.

A spokesman for the singer confirmed he was filming a music video.
