Síle Seoige has said that being at home for the first time with her newborn son is "pure magic".
The 38-year-old presenter and her boyfriend Damien O'Farrell welcomed their first child last Wednesday and the following Saturday the couple brought their baby Cathal home for the first time.
The broadcaster posted a picture of O'Farrell holding their son with a tiny blanket on his back which had the text "and so the adventure begins", along with the heartfelt message: "The men in my life. Tonight is our first night at home as a family and it's pure magic. Thanks so much for all the love.
"I've been enjoying the present moment too much to be on my phone but I really appreciate it."
Seoige announced the news of her son's arrival on social media on Thursday, saying they were "feeling incredibly lucky, thankful and so, so happy".
"Our baby boy arrived safe and sound in the early hours of the 2nd of August and we're in love," she continued.
"Thanks so much for all the messages... a lot of you had a feeling something was stirring!"
