Northern Irish actor Patrick Magee who landed leading roles in A Clockwork Orange, Chariots of Fire and Zulu has been honoured in Armagh for his success in film in the 1960s and 1970s.

Michael Caine was a mere rookie alongside him in Zulu.

Magee, who won a Tony Award for his role the Marquis de Sade in 1966, passed away in 1982.

Theatre was his main passion and Samuel Beckett was so enchanted by Magee's acting that he wrote a play specifically with him in mind.

On Saturday, Stephen Rea unveiled a plaque outside his childhood home commemorating him.
