Kendrick Lamar leads the way with eight nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards, with Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles and Ariana Grande among the other nominees.
Kendrick has been nominated for Artist of the Year with his HUMBLE music video, which was directed by Dave Meyers and The Little Homies, shortlisted in the Video of the Year, Best Hip Hop, Best Cinematography, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Visual Effects and Best Choreography categories.
In the Artist of the Year category he has been named alongside Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd and Lorde.
The other Video of the Year contenders are Bruno Mars' 24K Magic, Alessia Cara's Scars To Your Beautiful, DJ Khaled ft. Rihanna & Bryson Tiller's Wild Thoughts and The Weeknd's Reminder.
Harry Styles' debut solo single Sign of the Times sees the Dunkirk star earn his first ever VMA nominations without his One Direction bandmates. He has been nominated for Best Pop and Best Visual Effects.
Ed Sheeran's comeback after a short break sees the star given the nod in the Artist of the Year, Best Pop (Shape of You) and Best Cinematography (Castle on the Hill) sections.
