Crank up the conveyor belt, The Generation Game is returning, with Mel and Sue at the helm.
It was only a matter of time before the BBC announced that Mel and Sue would be back on the box together after The Bake-Off upped sticks and moved to Channel 4…and they've pulled a corker out of the bag for them, The Generation Game.
A firm family favourite in the 70s through to the 90s, it was most notably presented by Bruce Forthsyth.
Speaking about the announcement Mel and Sue joked: "It’s a cuddly toy, it’s a toaster, it’s a circular power saw, no it’s Mel and Sue doing The Generation Game! We can’t believe it. We are so excited!"

A freshened-up version of the classic show promises to skill challenges, such as balloon modelling or flamenco dancing, with new games for volunteer family teams to play in the studio for prizes.
Mel and Sue will be joined on the show by a string of celebrity judges, who will be announced in due course.
It has yet to be announced when the series will be shown.
The Generation Game debuted in 1971 with Forsyth and went on to be hosted by Larry Grayson and Jim Davidson, making Mel and Sue the first female presenters of the iconic show.
