The Barton brothers are both headed for a dramatic week on Emmerdale as passions rise.

Pete Barton (Anthony Quinlan) is feeling guilty having cheated on his girlfriend Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) with her best friend Priya Kotecha (Fionna Wade).

Leyla confides in David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) about wanting to get married to Pete, and he encourages her to take matters into her own hands and propose. After some encouragement she decides to get down on one knee and pop the question, but how will Pete react?

Pete turns to Priya again to talk about his guilt about the proposal and their affair. However, things get even messier when Nell Fairfax (Scarlett Archer) overhears them.

Will Nell expose their secret? And what will Priya do when she finds out Nell overheard the conversation?

Meanwhile, Pete's brother Ross (Michael Parr) could be about to fall for Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) again. They have a complicated history, having had an affair when Debbie was engaged to Pete which ended in a wedding-day drama which saw Ross being hospitalised and Pete and Debbie annulling their marriage.

However, it seems they're not ready to put their messy history behind them just yet. When Ross organises a party at the pub, things quickly turn chaotic as some of the teenage guests manage to get their hands on booze and run wild. Later, a fight breaks out between Ross and party host Jools' husband Roger, who finds them flirting in the toilets, ending in Ross being beaten up.

Debbie helps Ross clean his wounds and there is an obvious spark between them, but will they rekindle their doomed romance?
