None of the four young Irish singers performing on Sunday's show made it through to The Voice Kids semi-final (ITV, TV3, July 15), but they gave fine performances.
Dubliner Devon performed Ed Sheeran's Van the Man-style ballad Thinkin' Out Loud with fellow members Leah and Lewis from one of Pixie Lott's two teams. They were singing together but, of course, ultimately competing against each other. Lewis was the lucky one and will now compete in the semi-final.

On Team Danny, Nathan from County Antrim, along with Millianna and Jess R performed Runnin' by Naughty Boy and Beyoncé - Jess R made it through.
On will.i.am's first team, Marby from Kildare, along with Victoria and Brooke sang a curious choice indeed, Eurhythmics' There Must Be an Angel.
None of the singers actually knew the song beforehand so rehearsals were challenging, but ultimately rewarding and they did themselves proud. Gina went through to the semi-final but, gracious in defeat, Marby declared it "the best day of her life" while wiil.i.am offered a consoling hug.

On will.i.am's other team, young Clare native Adam, along with Gina and Francesca, sang George Michael and Mary J Blige's hit As. They truly made it their own, even though they were not familiar with the song before rehearsals. Gina was the one to go through, dashing the Clare-man's chances.
Adam was philosophical about not making it through. "It's brilliant, it's been a good experience. I'm happy to get to this stage," he said.
Sophia - another of the mostly British contestants taking part - made it through from Pixie Lott's other team, performing When Loves Take Over by David Guetta featuring Kelly Rowland.
