The battle stages of The Voice Kids saw Dubliner Zena, who was on Team Pixie, kick off the show with an epic battle with fellow competitors Jess and Miriam.
The powerhouse trio sang their heart out to Little Mix's empowering track Little Me. All three put in equally confident performances and left Pixie Lott agonising over which one to choose to go through to the semi-final.
After deliberating over the decision, Lott finally chose Jess. Zena was gracious in defeat, saying, "It's been absolutely amazing working with the girls".
Massive congratulations to superstar diva Jess, the first of our Singers to make it through to #TheVoiceKidsUK Semi-Final!! 🙌💃 @PixieLott pic.twitter.com/kXC54FkNX8

Some viewers were surprised by the decision, taking to Twitter to say she "deserved to go through".
@ZENAdonnelly I can't believe that. You were awesome Zena, you rocked that song. You should have gone through 😔 #TheVoiceKidsUK

That was a great song choice, I like Miriam but Zena was the biggest star on that stage. #TheVoiceKidsUK

Four other Irish singers will compete in the show this weekend - Marby (Kildare), Devon (Dublin), Nathan (Antrim) and Adam (Clare).
The Voice Kids gives children aged between 7 and 14 years a chance at stardom and follows the same format as the adult show, with will.iam, Pixie Lott and McFly's Danny Jones in the big red chairs.
