Movie Choice of the day
Chronicle, 7.20pm, Film4
This excellent 2012 found-footage, science-fiction thriller may have suffered due to a surfeit of films in this genre, because it didn't seem to get the attention its smart script and cast deserved.
The outrageously intense Dane DeHaan (who was previously superb in Gabriel Byrne's In Treatment TV series) stars as Andrew Detmer, a teenager who starts videotaping his grim life: his mother is dying of cancer and his alcoholic father is abusive. At school, Andrew gets bullied.
Andrew and his pals then develop telekinetic abilities after discovering a strange hole in the ground, and after playing around for a while they begin to use their powers for good.
Andrew, unfortunately, begins to see his powers as a way of achieving retribution against the people bullying him.

Soap Choice of the day
Coronation Street, 7.30pm, TV3
Michelle is shocked by what Robert tells her about his past. Michelle hugs Robert as he fights back the tears.
Later, as Robert surveys the police tape surrounding the Bistro, he laments to Leanne that he's only been the sole owner for 24 hours. Leanne is gutted to realise Nick has sold his share and clearly has no intention of coming back.
Robert calls Rich and tells him he's prepared to do one deal for him.
Meanwhile, making out he's got to work late, Aidan presents Eva with a voucher for a spa and suggests she takes the day off and treats one of her friends. Eva hides her anger.

Workaholics (Seasons 1-6)
This is a Comedy Central series from earlier this decade and if juvenile humour is a thing for you, Workaholics should prove amusing.
Co-created by its stars Adam DeVine (Pitch Perfect), Blake Anderson (Parks and Recreation) and Anders Holm (Sausage Party), this Emmy-nominated comedy follows three college graduates as they enter the workforce together.
But making the transition from slacker to telemarketers isn’t easy and they quickly find themselves spending their days avoiding doing any real work before letting loose in the evenings.

Today's Guilty Pleasure
Colony, 9.00pm, Sky 1
Back for a second season, this enjoyable if hardly original dystopian sci-fi drama stars former Lost star Josh Holloway and Prison Break's Sarah Wayne Callies.
The set-up is that, in the near future, Los Angeles is under the cosh an invading extra-terrestrial force that has taken control of the city – with some support from the locals.
Callies and Holloway feature as Katie and Will, a couple on either side of an alien invasion, with him working for the ETs and her doing likewise for the resistance.
As the story resumes, and with Katie's alliance with the resistance exposed, she and her husband find themselves on opposite sides of the battle.
