A contestant who was unceremoniously dumped mid-meal on First Dates UK returned to the show for a second shot of love - and this time he even got to stay for dessert.

Two weeks ago, First Dates UK aired one of its most awkward and downright cruel meet-ups to date.

Viewers were shocked and horrified when "old romantic" Greig had his hopes of finding love crushed by a pub landlord who rudely asked him to leave before their main courses even arrived. 

Poor Greig, a 35-year-old HR director, was told by his date that he didn't find him attractive and still had to pay for his dinner that he hadn't even eaten!

Understandably, the lovely and bubbly Greig was nervous about putting himself back in the dating game and returning to the scene of the crime. 

He admitted that he was scared and hurt from his disaster date and worried history would repeat itself.

Thankfully (and not surprisingly), his fears were quickly forgotten and he ended up having an awesome date with financial guru Shaun. Cute couple alert!

The giggly pair hit it off from the get-go and bonded over dogs and insightful thoughts about love and life. Eh, John who?

When asked if he'd like to see Greig again, Shaun couldn't help but hide his massive grin, saying "Definitely, yes" before asking when.

Viewers were thrilled and jumping for joy over Greig's blossoming romance and took to Twitter in their droves to express their delight.
