Tom Hardy is reportedly in line to take on the role of Jafar in the Aladdin live-action remake.
Guy Ritchie will helm the project and he is said to have approached Hardy to take on the part of the Disney villain.
"Guy is a huge fan of Tom's work and securing him would be a major coup," a source told The Sun UK.
"There have been conversations and, although nothing is set in stone and things are subject to change, he's certainly one of Guy's favoured choices."

"It just depends on schedules and whether he'll be able to sign up," they added.
Hardy is the latest star to be linked to the film, with Will Smith thought to be taking on the part of the Genie, which was voiced by Robin Williams in the 1992 animated classic.
Little Mix singer Jade Thirwall has been linked to the role of Jasmine, with a source saying they talks have been "going on for some time now" and that her band-mates all "have their fingers crossed for her."
