Movie Choice of the day
Gran Torino, 10.40pm, Sky Cinema Select
There's no denying that Clint Eastwood has made a huge impression on cinema over the years, but this drama stands up as one of his finest moments both on and off-screen.
Starring and directing, the then 78-year-old Eastwood plays a cantankerous Korean War veteran who reluctantly becomes a hero to his immigrant neighbours, despite a lifetime of prejudice.
Although it was ignored by the Academy Awards, Gran Torino grossed over a quarter of a billion dollars and, in terms of box office, is the most successful film of Eastwood's remarkable career.

The Snapper, RTÉ Player
If you missed it last night on RTÉ One, you' can catch The Snapper on the RTÉ Player any time over the next six days.
Tina Kellegher – whatever happened to her? – is great in the lead role as Sharon Curley, a young Dubliner who gets pregnant but won't reveal the identity of the expectant father.
But the film's show-stopper is undoubtedly Colm Meaney. He's in scene-chewing form as her father, Des Curley, in this second adaptation of Roddy Doyle's Barrytown trilogy.
Directed by Stephen Frears it rattles along with great energy and the jokes come thick and fast, while Dubs should recognise such sights as the long-gone Shieling Hotel in Raheny, and the roundabout route Des takes when heading to the Rotunda Hospital.
