Liam, yes that Liam, from the Bord Gáis viral ad joined Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show to chat about his newfound fame and was as charming as you'd expect.

The boiler engineer found himself the subject of unexpected attention when Bord Gáis posted a black and white mugshot of him on their Facebook page, which set hearts fluttering around the country and prompted reams of saucy comments.

Liam's photo sent hearts fluttering on Facebook

He got temperatures boiling oncemore when he appeared on Friday's Late Late where he was self-deprecating about the widespread adulation.

"It's very flattering. It's shocking, to be honest", he told Tubridy, joking that he's getting a lot of stick and his friends "are having a field day".

Liam went on to say that his young children are none-too-impressed by all the attention their dad's getting.

His 11-year-old son Josh's first response was "You're not even that good looking Dad", while his seven-year-old daughter announced she was "going off to play" when he told her he was going on TV.

Liam's wife Tina seems to be taking the situation in her stride. She told Tubridy "He is gorgeous, I've always known he was gorgeous."

"We are just having a laugh, it's very funny", she added of the viral ad.

When Tubridy took the innuendo to the next level with the question: "Does he service the boiler at home?", she gamely replied: "Not often enough!"

What's Liam's final take on the many comments the viral ad garnered? "They were all harmless banter and it was a bit of craic because at the end of the day we do a serious job."
