The first images from the seventh season of Game of Thrones have been released, and they're not giving much away in terms of storyline.
Spoiler alert!
In Winterfell, Jon Snow is looking as generally dark and broody as usual but from the arch behind him, and the dark surrounds, it could be possible that he is in the crypts visiting the tomb of Lyanna Stark, which would suggest that he perhaps finds out that she is his birth mother.

This could indicate that Bran and Meera make it south to Winterfell after bidding Benjen goodbye last season - they are definitely still on the move anyway!

Davos Seaworth appears to be giving someone an intense stare as he sits in Winterfell – we can't wait to find out who is on the receiving end, it looks like he has no time for them whatsoever.

Meanwhile, Sansa and Littlefinger appear to be cahoots – hopefully not to the detriment of Jon. Either that or, and this would be more favourable, he's still trying it on with her and she has no time for him, but it looks as though they're watching someone so we'll just have to wait and see with this one.

The Hound is back and looking chilly – given the snowfall he's riding his horse through, could this mean he'll cross paths with Arya again?

And as for Arya, she looks to be in a pub, will another name be crossed off her list on her journey home to Winterfell?

Tormund Giantsbane is giving Brienne the eye – the great love story of our time could be blossoming this season.

Lyanna Mormont is back, and we hope to see a lot more of her this season. Give her the Iron Throne now! Not a fan of Littlefinger skulking around in the background though...

It looks as though Daenerys has made it to Westeros with Tyrion and co. This is pressumably Dragonstone as we saw her sitting on a throne there in the first teaser video that was released. She is also wearing the Targaryen colours of red and black, fully embracing her heritage as she makes her play for the Iron Throne.

Her right hand woman Missandei is seen wearing a broach with the three dragon heads on it, while Tyrion is proudly displaying his hand of the queen pin.

Varys has swapped his light robes for something a little warmer now that they have arrived in Westeros, or could he possibly be venturing further north to make some more alliances?

Sam and Gilly are studying up – trying to make sense of all the madness and find a way of defeating the White Walkers, no doubt.

Game of Thrones returns to Sky Atlantic for it's penultimate season in July.
