As the saying goes 'there's always two sides to every story' and that's exactly why Imelda May is encouraging fans to listen to her ex-husband's album about the breakdown of their marriage.
The 42-year-old rockabilly star and her husband Darrel Higham announced they were parting ways after 13 years of marriage in the summer of 2015, and May says in order to get the full picture of their break-up, it's important that people don't just concentrate on her new album, Life Love Flesh Blood.
Speaking to The Irish Daily Mail's You magazine, Imelda says she has no issue with directing people to her former husband's new album as she doesn't want her story to be one-sided.
"Darrel has written his own album so if you want to hear his side of things you can go and listen to the songs on his album."
"He knows I'm a songwriter and he knows that's what I was going to do and that's what he did. That's good, that's healthy and it's the way it should be."

"People just presume that [it's a break-up album] because I broke up with my husband.
"But I met someone, so it’s about falling in love after a big split, being scared and feeling lust again," she told the Mail Online.
"And then I got my heart broken by that person and so I wrote about that, too.
"I had a moment – I’m not going to tell you exactly what, because it hurt too much – but it was a major goodbye," she added.
The couple, who welcomed their first daughter, Violet, in August 2012, walked down the aisle in 2002.
May's new album, Life. Love. Flesh. Blood, is released on Friday.
