Liam Payne has reassured One Direction fans that the band will reunite after their hiatus.

The hugely successful boyband have been on a self-imposed break since the end of 2015.

Last night, Payne took part in a Twitter Q&A session, and was subsequently bombarded with questions regarding whether or not the group would eventually get back together.

One fan asked the 23-year-old singer, “Will one direction ever get back together again?” before Payne quickly replied giving confirmation, saying “I’m 100% certain that we will.”

The #AskLiam session was also the first chance One Direction fans got to question the singer directly about the rumours circulating that he's expecting his first child with girlfriend Cheryl Cole.

However, the singer evaded the questions but hinted he was in a state of bliss.

Payne and Cheryl, first sparked pregnancy rumours last month when the former X Factor judge was out and showed off a growing baby bump.

Neither have confirmed the rumours, but bandmate Niall Horan seemingly let the happy news slip when he was spotted leaving a baby boutique earlier this month carrying gifts.

Payne and Cheryl first met in 2008 when the then 14-year-old singer auditioned for the U.K. version of the X Factor, and Cheryl was acting as a judge.

The couple began dating earlier this year after Cheryl split from her second husband, Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, and officially confirmed they were together in March on Instagram.
