Red Rock and Love/Hate actress Denise McCormack, Fair City and The Fall actress Aoibhin Garrihy, and model Thalia Heffernanwill be hoping to dance their way to glitterball glory on RTÉ's Dancing With The Stars.
They join comedian Des Bishop on the line-up for the new hoofing show, which high kicks off on RTÉ One on January 8 for a 12-week run.
Coming from a musical family, Aoibhin went on to star as Neasa Dillon in Fair City and has since appeared on drama series The Fall and several stage roles across the world.

Speaking about her new challenge, she said: “I am so delighted to be involved in the very first Irish Dancing with the Stars and all its glittering glory! As an actor, the opportunity to learn a completely new art form in a very short space of time is both an exciting and nerve-racking concept!
"So far, the experience has been amazing and I'm really enjoying every minute of it! Here's to a delightful few months of dancing!”
No stranger to the stage, Denise McCormack is an IFTA award winning actress having received Best Supporting Actress for her role as gangster’s moll Linda in Love/Hate. She currently plays the recurring role of Bridget Kiely in the award-winning TV3 drama Red Rock.
"I am thrilled to be taking part in Dancing with the Stars, It’s such a privilege as I have always loved dancing, I did a bit as a kid but to learn it professionally is a whole new challenge" she said.

Model Thalia Heffernan is about to swap the catwalk for the dancefloor and she says she is well up for the change. “I am so excited about participating in the show. I get to test my mettle in other disciplines - I enjoy any chance to dance and this is an opportunity to show the real me.”

On Friday night’s Late Late Show, Irish-American comedian Des Bishop became the first name to confirm their participation in the show: “I absolutely cannot wait for January. I can’t think of a better way to spend the next few months," he said. "If I last that long! At my age, to learn something completely new like ballroom dancing is an amazing opportunity.”

Earlier this week Amanda Byram and Nicky Byrne were confirmed to present the first series of Dancing with the Stars.
