Brad Pitt has failed in a legal bid to keep details of his high-profile custody and divorce battle with Angelina Jolie under wraps.
Pitt had attempted to seal details of the custody proceedings in an emergency hearing at a Los Angeles court on Wednesday, but the judge declined to hear the request.
The actor made the request in order to "protect the privacy" of their six children and shield them from negative media scrutiny.
The estranged couple reached an agreement in late October which allows Pitt to have visits with his children under the guidance of a therapist.

He wrote in a sworn declaration: "I am extremely concerned that if court records regarding custody are not sealed, information contained therein will cause irreparable damage to our children's privacy rights."
Jolie's lawyers hit back and claimed that Pitt's request was an attempt to protect himself rather than his children, saying it was "a thinly veiled attempt to shield himself, rather than the minor children, from public view."

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September after two years of marriage and currently has primary custody of their six children.
Their split came after Pitt allegedly lost his temper and a disagreement broke out on a private flight from France to Los Angeles.
The FBI recently chose not to file any criminal charges against Pitt over the allegations of a confrontation with his 15-year-old son Maddox on the flight.
The couple became romantically involved after meeting on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith in 2005.
