The results are all in: 5 After Midnight, Saara Aalto and Matt Terry will contest this year's X Factor final.
Louis Walsh's group 5 After Midnight and Sharon Osbourne's act Aalto secured their places in next weekend's show after the results of the public vote were revealed, with Emily Middlemas and Terry battling it out for the third and final spot in the sing-off.
The sing-off was described as a "shocker" by host Dermot O'Leary because it was the first time for Middlemas and Terry to be in the bottom two. She sang Wings by Birdy while Terry performed Hurt by Christina Aguilera.
After their performances, show boss Simon Cowell voted to send his act, Middlemas, through with Nicole Scherzinger also choosing her own act, Terry. Walsh and Osbourne then gave Terry their votes.
Gracious in defeat, 18-year-old Middlemas said: "I'm so proud of myself to actually get to the semi-final, but I want to say a massive 'thank you' to all of the team behind us - the researchers who look after us in the house, people there in makeup... all of the judges, you [presenter O'Leary], all of the contestants. This year has been amazing, and I'm just so lucky to have been part of it."
With his act missing out on a place in the final, Cowell said: "The three do deserve to be there, but I'm gutted for Emily to get this close. It's all about what you do with your life now and using this properly."

Finnish singer Aalto is currently the bookies' favourite to win the competition. The final will take place at London's Wembley Arena as the show bids farewell to the soon-to-be-demolished Fountain Studios, its home for 13 years.
Paying tribute to the London studios' staff, Cowell said: "They are going to knock this place down, I can't believe it, but that is life I guess."
