Irish music act Glenn&Ronan will perform at the US-Ireland Alliance’s annual pre-Oscars bash, the Oscar Wilde Awards, on February 23 at the offices of JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot production company in Santa Monica.

They will open for Frames' front man Glen Hansard, who is also being honoured at the event, which will be emceed by the host, Abrams, one of Hollywood's hottest directors.

By any standards, Glenn Murphy and Ronan Scolard have had an incredible year. A video of their performing an Adele medley went viral in March, racking up over 25 million views and leading to Adele invited them on stage to perform the medley at her sold-out Dublin show.

Then followed an invitation to appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and next up they spent months performing at 80 sold out shows across North America as special guests for Celtic Woman.

"Literally in the space of a week and a half we went from posting the video on Thursday, we went to the [Adele] concert on the Saturday and the following Sunday we flew to LA to be on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, it was absolutely nuts", Glenn recently told RTÉ Entertainment.

The duo released their debut single, Come Home, in September and they've now launched their second release, All Of the Stars, written by none other than Ed Sheeran and Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol.
