Amber Heard is being sued for $10 million for breaching contract obligations that include removing sex scenes from the film adaptation of Martin Amis's acclaimed novel, London Fields.
The 31-year-old actress stars as a psychic who is aware she is about to be murdered, while events are narrated by a struggling writer played by Billy Bob Thornton.
According to reports, Heard has been accused of working with director Mathew Cullen to remove some of the he nudity and sexually explicit scenes from the final edit.
In a 24-page complaint filed by producers in Los Angeles Superior Court, it's claimed that the actions of Heard and Cullen have damaged the movie and that "as a result of their misconduct" the film now "remains in limbo, hijacked and placed under a cloud".
More than a year ago, its screening at the Toronto Film Festival prompted controversy with much of the movie's talent refusing to show up in support.
Before it opened Mathew Cullen, the film's director, sued producer Christopher Hanley's production company for fraud, claiming that producers hijacked the final cut of the movie.
The premiere screening was then cancelled, and the critics who did manage to see it gave it scathing reviews, where it was described as "car-crash film-making" and a "cartoonish mess".
Hanley later struck back with a counterclaim accusing Cullen of failing to deliver the film on budget and on time.

Adding to the intrigue were news report how London Fields might have been a factor in Heard's divorce from Johnny Depp, who has a small role in the movie.
It was reported that the couple argued non-stop during production and there were allegations that Heard and co-star Billy Bob Thornton had slept together, something which Thornton has vehemently denied.
