Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has been cast in the Star Wars spin-off about the early years of Han Solo.
The actress, best known for playing Daenerys Targaryen in the hit HBO fantasy series, will star alongside Aldren Ehrenreich in the upcoming film.
Ehrenreich is playing the titular Solo, the role made famous by Harrison Ford in the original movies.
Clarke's character has not yet been revealed but an announcement on StarWars.com said: "Emilia Clarke is heading to a galaxy far, far away - and she's going to meet Han and Chewie.
"StarWars.com is excited to announce that Clarke, known for her stirring portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, will join the upcoming untitled Han Solo Star Wars movie. Clarke's role will round out a dynamic cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures."
Atlanta and Community star Donald Glover was recently cast as Landro Calrissian, who was originally played by Billy Dee Williams, in the spin-off which will explore the iconic characters' early lives.
Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will depict Landro in his formative years as a "scoundrel on the rise in the galaxy's underworld", years before the events involving Han, Leia and Darth Vader in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
The as-yet untitled Han Solo movie is set for release in 2018.
