Irish TV presenter Angela Scanlon has landed a gig as temporary co-host for BBC One's The One Show, alternating with Michelle Ackerley.
The 32-year-old is filling in for regular host Alex Jones while she's on maternity leave, and will feature on Thursdays and Fridays.
"I'm over the moon to get the chance to present one of my favourite shows on TV and I'm thrilled to be looking after Alex's spot on the green sofa while she is away," she says in a BBC press release.
"I have always been a massive fan of The One Show and love being part of that wonderful family so I really can't wait to get started."
Scanlon's CV includes the documentary Oi Ginger! and the follow-up series Angela Scanlon: Full Frontal and Angela Scanlon's Close Encounters for RTÉ2, RTÉ/BBCNI travel show Getaways, and the BBC 2 show Robot Wars, which she co-presents with Dara O Briain.
