Johnny Depp is reportedly set to join the cast of the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them franchise.

It is not yet known what role the Pirates of the Caribbean star will take in the Wizarding World, and although Warner Bros. have yet to confirm or deny his casting, according to Deadline.com there might be a hint in the upcoming first instalment.

It was recently revealed that the series would consist of five films, with director David Yates set to begin working on the second outing early next year.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them takes us to a new era in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, decades before Harry Potter and half a world away.

Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne stars in the central role of Magizoologist Newt Scamander, who travels to New York with a leather briefcase full of magical creatures.
