Irish actress Eve Hewson is to play a newlywed whose marriage hits trouble within 12 months in the new movie Paper Year.

The film marks the directorial debut of New Girl writer Rebecca Addelman and tells the story of the madly-in-love Franny (The Knick star Hewson) and Dan (Tut star Avan Jogia) who tie the knot with only $175 between them. Not long after saying 'I do', cracks appear in their marriage.

Paper Year began production in Toronto this week and will also film in Los Angeles.

Hewson, the daughter of Bono and Ali Hewson, was last seen in cinemas in Steven Spielberg's cold war thriller Bridge of Spies. She will be on screens next year opposite Kingsman: The Secret Service star Taron Egerton in Robin Hood: Origins, playing Maid Marian.
