Kate Beckinsale's husband, director Len Wiseman, has filed for divorce from the actress after 12 years of marriage.
Court records in Los Angeles show that the 43-year-old director filed for divorce from the actress on Friday citing irreconcilable differences.
The former couple met in 2003 after working together on the film Underworld, which Wiseman directed and Beckinsale starred in as a vampire warrior. They later went on to work together on the critically-panned remake of Total Recall.
The Hollywood stars tied the knot in 2004 but do not have any children together.
Shortly after they wed, Beckinsale admitted that she tried to resist a romance with Wiseman while working together on Underworld, saying: "It was one of those things that was happening but that we tried to pretend was not happening for a long time. Len and I were both with other people at the time, and the whole thing was really difficult.
"We made the film, and it wasn't until after it had finished that it finally dawned on me how much I liked him. I knew within five minutes of kissing Len that I would marry him."
Beckinsale has a 16-year-old daughter, Lily, with her former partner of eight years, actor Michael Sheen.
The British actress will star in the fifth film in the Underworld series - Underworld: Blood Wars - which Wiseman helped write and produce. The film is scheduled for release in February 2017.
