Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has finalised her divorce from her husband Jean-Bernard after they were granted a dissolution of their 18 month old marriage by a court in London this morning.
The 33-year-old singer and talent show judge secretly married French restaurateur Fernandez-Versini in July 2014, on a beach on the Caribbean island of Mustique after just three months of dating.
A spokesperson for the singer said: "Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini have today obtained a decree nisi in their divorce proceedings. No further comment will be made and they ask for their privacy to be respected."
Neither was in court for today's proceedings, which lasted all of 14 seconds. It was recently reported that Fernandez-Versini will not be "receiving a penny" from the pop star.
It's understood the singer will not be changing her name straight away. Instead she will continue to be known professionally as just 'Cheryl'.

It's the second divorce for the former Girls Aloud singer. She was previously married to English footballer Ashley Cole for four years, before they divorced in 2010 amid allegations that he had cheated on her.
She filed for divorce from Cole, citing "unreasonable behaviour", and later claimed that she "coped in public and crumbled in private".
After the divorce she was linked with American dancer, Derek Hough, who appeared in the video for her single Parachute and subsuqently dated another dancer Tre Holloway for just over a year.
The divorce news leaves the singer free to pursue a new life with her boyfriend, One Direction star Liam Payne.
The pair met in 2008 when Payne appeared as a 14-year-old contestant on The X Factor where she was a judge. They went public with their romance back in May after they posted a picture together on Instagram.
Recently there have been rumours that Cheryl is pregnant after photographs were published which suggested she might be expecting. However neither herself nor Payne have publicly commented on the speculation.
Payne is currently in the studio working on material for his first solo album after he signed a record deal earlier this year.
Recently Louis Walsh told RTÉ that was very upbeat about the singer's prospects as a solo artist saying "He's a great writer, I think he might surprise us honestly."
