Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander stepped out on the red carpet together at the London premiere of their new movie The Light Between Oceans on Tuesday night and the Hollywood couple were looking loved-up and happy to share the moment together.
Fassbender previously revealed that he and his Oscar winning girlfriend Vikander had on-screen chemistry "pretty much immediately" while filming their upcoming drama The Light Between Oceans.
The 39-year-old Irish actor and 27-year-old Swedish actress first met on set while shooting the emotionally-charged movie, which sees them play a married couple.
They have since embarked on a relationship which is closely guarded from the press.
Fassbender told Access Hollywood that he treasures and protects their "own private moments", but did say that they sparked off one another "pretty much immediately" while filming with director Derek Cianfrance.
The Kerry-raised actor joked about shooting love scenes with Vikander for the film, saying: "It's always awkward because there are people in the room, unless you're into that!"
"It's always an awkward thing", he added. "You have to create an intimate moment in a non-intimate scenario."
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Fassbender wasn't too impressed to be asked about his love life, telling the reporter, "I'm not going to talk about my private life with a total stranger, unless I feel like I need to."
"Why would I? I don't," he added.
On the reason for keeping their relationship separate from their work lives, Fassbender explained that he would rather people knew him for his performances instead of his love life.
"It’s the worst thing if you’re sitting there in the theatre, going, ‘Oh, that’s the guy who dates this person and likes to do this in the morning and that in the afternoon.' Then you’re just watching a brand, as opposed to an actor," he said.
The Light Between Oceans is based on the M.L. Stedman psychological thriller of the same name, which was released in 2013.
The pair play a married couple, Tom and Isabel, who, after losing their own newborn baby, discover another child washed up in a boat near their home.
They decide to raise the little girl as their own, but when the girl's real mother, played by Rachel Weisz, crosses their path, they have a big decision to make.
The Light Between Oceans hits cinemas in January, 2017.
